On December 20, 2014, at Duy Tan University, the Scientific Council conducted the official evaluation and acceptance testing for the Ministry-level Scientific Research Project entitled "Research and Development of a Security Control System Using Multi-Biometric Identification Technology Combined with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Technology on an Embedded System." The project was led by Dr. Le Nguyen Bao, Vice Rector of Duy Tan University, along with 9 other members. The project was rated "Excellent" and highly appreciated for its practical value and wide potential for real-world applications.

The Evaluation Council was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sc. Nguyen Xuan Huy from the Institute of Information Technology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, alongside council members appointed under the Decision of the Department of Science and Technology – Ministry of Education and Training. Presenting and answering defense inquiries during the evaluation session were Dr. Le Nguyen Bao (Principal Investigator), Dr. Pham Anh Phuong (member), M.Sc. Nguyen Gia Nhu (member), M.Sc. Tran Le Thang Dong (member), and M.Sc. Trinh Xuan Hung (member).

Launched in January 2012 with an execution period of 24 months, the project utilized biometric technology—which uses unique physical attributes and biological characteristics of individuals such as fingerprints, irises, and faces—for user identification. Along with scientifically developed theoretical sections, a security control device was created, offering 3 modes: facial recognition, fingerprint recognition, and RFID card identification (similar to elevator access cards), with features fully refined by the research team to authenticate users.

A major success of the project was the successful training of 1 PhD graduate, Nguyen Thi Huong Thuy, who successfully defended her national-level dissertation titled "Solutions to Enhance the Efficiency of Fingerprint Identification Systems" at the University of Engineering and Technology – Vietnam National University, Hanoi; and 2 Master's graduates, including Tran Le Thang Dong with the thesis "Human Face Detection Based on 3D Approach" at Duy Tan University, and Trinh Xuan Hung with "Research on Shadow and Lighting Effects in Building Virtual Reality Applications" at the University of Engineering and Technology – Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The council evaluated this outcome as exceeding the target proposed during the project bidding (which had originally registered to train only 2 Master's students).

After listening to the presentation and questioning the team members, the Scientific Council remarked that the project had successfully and fully met all requirements regarding execution time, training, research, and practical products in accordance with regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. Furthermore, the council commended the research results for their accuracy, completeness, and logical rigor. The evaluation session took place in an atmosphere of candid, lively discussion, strictly following the prescribed procedures for Ministry-level project acceptance.

Dr. Pham Anh Phuong, Head of the Information Technology Department, Researcher at the Institute of High Technology Research and Development, and project research member, stated: "The successful implementation of this project helps apply IT techniques comprehensively. It can also help establish in-depth theoretical and technological research directions in image processing applications for security monitoring and inspection. The project results reflect a elaborate and serious research effort by the Principal Investigator and team members."
